To have loved
To have wanted the
whole fruit
and to have
received such a thin slice.
To have nursed two
orphans on my chest
nourished their
flesh to fullness
and still
the milk streaming
forth
as if from an
endless wound.
To have thrown the
grenade
and watched it roll
as if wasn’t me
who’d thrown it
at all.
The shadow of my
hand
in the quiet of my
lap. The unreadable
stations of my
poems.
To have tossed the
grenade and watched it
changing positions.
There
on the marble
steps. Now
tumbling across the
courtyard.
Now, turning of its
own accord
and rolling
toward me.
Ter Amado
Ter
querido a fruta toda
e
ter recebido um naco tão fino.
Ter
amamentado dois órfãos com o peito
nutriu
as suas carnes em pleno
e
mesmo assim
o
leite flui
como
de uma ferida interminável.
Ter
lançado uma
granada
e
tê-la visto rolar
como
se não tivesse sido eu
quem
a tivesse lançado.
A
sombra da minha mão
na
quietude do regaço. As estações
ilegíveis
dos meus poemas.
Ter
abanado a granada e vê-la
mudar
de posição. Ali
nos
degraus de mármore. Agora
cai
no pátio.
Agora,
gira por si própria
e
rola
até
mim.
